The Taiwa Jazz Band and Dancers are off to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil for a tour with IBISS, an arts and culture organisation there. The band will be there for ten days and will perform in various venues around Rio.
The band members are Siyabonga Zwane on alto and tenor saxophone, Marvin Manyaka on keyboards, Vusi Mazibuko on Drums, Thabiso Modikoe on Bass Guitar and Tshepo Motswe on Phalafala (a traditional horn instrument), percussions and drums as well as a novel performance of dance and poetry. Elmarie Moagi & Puleng Phoka are dancers.
A joint initiative by the Moses Taiwa Molelekwa Arts Foundation (South Africa), Cultural Development Trust (South Africa), IBISS (Brazil) and Mundial Productions (Holland).
